With the introduction of the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) in 2012 the issue of sustainability has been pushed even further up the planning agenda. As such, the ability to combine traditional transport planning services with those targeted at promoting sustainable travel options has become key to the success of many development proposals and planning applications.
In this respect TPS are able to benefit from a quite unique blend of experience. Our team combines more typical transport planning skills with that of our industry leading ‘travel planners’. Our understanding of sustainable transport planning therefore goes beyond the theory and draws upon our first hand experience of delivering sustainable transport strategies and measures for a wide range of end users.
Together these skills allow us to better understand the opportunities and potential issues at a site, from which we can advise on the most appropriate sustainable accessibility solutions. Services delivered can typically range from detailed accessibility audits through to the development of public transport strategies or preparation of appeal evidence.
