A sustainable travel audit assesses the ease with which a site can be accessed by all modes of transport, and the space and facilities provided for this.
Not only does such an audit form an essential element of any Transport Assessment, Transport Statement and Travel Plan, but on its own it can be used to inform a number of various processes such as initial site appraisals, car park management strategies and corporate relocations.
Some examples of our work
West Suffolk Hospital
At the West Suffolk Hospital an in depth sustainable travel audit was used to not only develop a site specific travel plan, but also to inform the development of a car park management strategy …
Leeds Trinity University College
At Leeds Trinity University College, as part of the development of a wider transport strategy, TPS undertook a comprehensive travel audit which considered not only the existing travel patterns of staff and students (through techniques such as car park surveys, travel surveys etc), but also an assessment of the travel options/infrastructure available in the surrounding area. This allowed the college to identify a range of areas in which they could lobby for improvements to local infrastructure (inc. cycle routes, public transport waiting facilities etc), and areas where internal improvements could be made to enable more staff and students to travel sustainably.
