Having worked with Gleeson Homes at numerous sites in the past, TPS have been appointed to prepare a Transport Statement and Travel Plan in support of residential development proposals in Wakefield. Despite an initial indication that a full Transport Assessment would be required, our team were successful in engaging with the local authority at the earliest opportunity to reduce the scope of works based upon the specific nature of the application.

Travel Plan for a Health Centre in Scunthorpe

TPS has been appointed by NHS North Lincolnshire to develop a travel plan for the Ironstone Health and Social Care Centre in Scunthorpe. The travel plan will support the NHS in achieving a BREEAM rating of excellent.

Property management website at Granary Wharf, Leeds

Having worked with GVA Grimley’s on numerous sites in the past, TPS were happy to extend our usual travel planning related services to develop an online property management tool for the Granary Wharf estate in Leeds.

At the outset the website will be used as an online source of property/travel information, however as occupations continue to take place it is the intention that the website will form part of the wider development of a Granary Wharf ‘Community’, taking a pro active role in facilitating engagement between residents, amenity providers, visitors and estate management.

Residential Travel Plan Implementation

TPS has been appointed to continue our longstanding relationship with Persimmon Homes, and to develop the marketing material required as part of the implementation of a travel plan at a large residential site in Birtley.

Our in house design team will develop a range of travel information resources, including a dedicated Travel Plan website and Travel Information Packs for distribution to all residents.

Transport planning for a major mixed use development

TPS has been appointed by the Scarborough Development Group to continue our longstanding involvement at the Thorpe Park Business Park in Leeds.

Having played a leading role in securing an initial approval for 1.8m sq ft of office development at the turn of the century, TPS has since been engaged by the sites management agents to both implement the Travel Plan Framework and to develop the wider ParkLife community.

In response to the current economic climate it is the current intention of the developers to submit a fresh masterplan application for the remainder of the site, and TPS has been engaged to work as part of the development team with key responsibilities to develop a revised Public Transport Strategy and Framework Travel Plan under the umbrella of a wider Thorpe Park Transport Plan.

It is an exciting development we are thrilled to be involved in, and I’m sure there will be more news to follow.

Transport Statement in Sheffield

TPS has been appointed by architects Coda Studios to prepare a Transport Statement in support of the proposed redevelopment of the Penistone Road Trading Estate in Sheffield. Redevelopment plans include the refurbishment and reconfiguration of the existing units, along with changes to the existing access and parking arrangements.

Railway Station Travel Plan

TPS has been appointed to prepare a Travel Plan in support of regeneration proposals at the Kirkgate train station in Wakefield. The travel plan will have a dual purpose in both satisfying planning requirements, and ensuring that a BREEAM rating of excellent is achieved.

Analysis of access opportunities

A site investigation will be used to inform a report on access opportunities and constraints, ensuring development proposals are based upon the most appropriate and cost effective access solution.

Travel Plan and Parking Beat Survey in Croydon

TPS has completed a Travel Plan and Parking Beat Survey in support of a change of use application in Croydon.

Kingfishers Day Nursery are bringing forward proposals to use an old dentist surgery as a day nursery, leading to local concern that pressure upon local on street parking would increase at peak times. TPS was able to demonstrate that whilst based upon projected trip rates sufficient slack exists in the surrounding streets, the nursery will do all that it can to reduce the number of trips made by car through a series of pro active measures.

New Appointment

TPS are delighted to welcome Paul Lewis to our team in the role of Senior Transport Planner. Paul brings to our team a wealth of experience having studied Geography and Transport Planning at the University of Leeds, and worked for two transport planning consultancies in the West Midlands.

Commenting on his new role, Paul said: “TPS is an exciting place to be at the moment. Following a rebrand and office relocation last year, we are now looking to build upon the solid business foundations and offer new and existing clients a wider range of skills and expertise.

“Therefore, my challenge is very much about finding out how we can assist developers with schemes to bring them to fruition through the planning system, and once they are completed how we can help them to encourage a greater level of travel sustainability.”
