As part of our role as travel plan coordinator at the Thorpe Park Business Park in Leeds TPS have won a competition run by Liftshare.com for '‘the most successful and inspiring car share promotion'’.

At the beginning of 2009 TPS organised a series of car share events within occupiers buildings across the business park to promote the recently branded Thorpe Park car share scheme. Supported by the HA, the events provided individuals with the opportunity to ask any questions about car sharing and to seek support registering with the scheme. All registering with the scheme during the course of the week long promotion were awarded with a free gift, as well as several freebies promoting the ParkLife Community!

To complete the promotion a free ‘car share’ buffet lunch was provided at the end of the week, allowing all those who had registered with a chance to meet potential car share companions in an informal and friendly surrounding, and a second opportunity to meet the travel plan team. During the promotional period membership of the scheme increased by 65%.

TPS have recently completed a comprehensive Transport Assessment and Travel Plan for a mixed use development in Middlesbrough. The development, built on the outskirts of the town centre, incorporates a number of retail units and student accommodation to serve the nearby Teeside University.

TPS have working with Coda Design, a Sheffield based Architectural and Project Management Company, to progress plans for a high profile site close to the Sheffield Arena. The end use of the site will be an office development with associated parking provision and it is hoped that the site will function as a car wash facility as an interim measure.

TPS have been appointed to prepare a Travel Plan for a lottery funded community football club in Rothwell which includes 6 pitches, an all weather pitch and associated club house facilities.
