Expanding client list (30.08.08)
We are pleased to announce that we have been commissioned by UK Coal to look into the transportation implications and conditions for a number of their development sites across the north of the country. In the first instance our team have been involved in the negotiation of public transport contributions and service enhancements to ensure that UK Coal gain value for money and that the sites being developed will retain a sustainable public transport service well into the future.

TPS develop various travel plans across the UK (30.08.08)We have been busy over the last couple of months, undertaking some large scale travel plans for a wide range of developments across the UK: -
1. Water Lane, Leeds This is a mixed commercial and residential development on the edge of the city centre. The site is within the Holbeck Urban Village regeneration area which is an exciting programme of development to breathe life into the area. The development will include offices, small retail units and a number of apartments.
2. Thornton Road, Bradford This development includes a hotel (with no parking provision!!!!), office space, retail units and residential apartments. The challenge here was to prove that the hotel will be commercially viable without parking spaces for guests.
3. Murston Business Park, Ashford, Kent This site, just over 1 mile from the Ashford International Rail Station, will provide commercial space for offices and light industry and also includes a new head office for the developer, Murston Construction Ltd. Situated within easy walking distance of the town centre and numerous public transport opportunities the challenge here will be to convince people to use the presently available alternatives to the car ....a nice challenge to have!

Travel Roadshow proves a real success at Thorpe Park (15.07.08)
WORKERS at Leeds's Thorpe Park business park are signing up to the idea of sustainable transportation.
A roadshow co-ordinated by the management team at the business park, along with the Highways Agency and Travel Plan Services, saw hundreds of employees registering with a website designed to offer alternatives to travelling alone in private transport to and from the park.
The website offers staff the chance to arrange car sharing opportunities, as well as detailing all the public transport links servicing the business park at Colton including a new shuttle bus that runs from Cross Gates railway station to the heart of the business park.
"The response was amazing it just shows how receptive people are to sustainable transport once they have the information they need to make alternative plans," said Andrew Crowther, associate director at Thorpe Park Developments Ltd, the management company for the business park.
"Our partners, including Leeds City Council, are looking at Thorpe Park to develop a truly sustainable transport initiative which can be rolled out to the rest of the city, and we are delighted to be working in conjunction with them."
The roadshow also incorporated a number of 'Dr Bikes' sessions in which The Bike Shop at Cross Gates provided free maintenance tips and advice for cyclists.
